Sorry to continue the DIE HOSTS DIE saga, but new things happened in it and I don't think anybody I know loves me enough to put up with me calling them after midnight to rant about tech support. You don't actually have to read it. Take me off your friends list and I'll sort it out on my own. I just need to get it off my chest.

I emailed them saying I couldn't get in on FTP, what up with that? The reply, basically, was "We've made some changes. Stop using FTP."

I need a new host. One that emphatically is not Cyberpixels. Or I just need to say fuck it, the world has enough Winamp skins, and then develop a new, low-bandwidth type hobby.

New host suggestions? Anybody?

....that was terribly embarrassing.

So I have managed to deal with the problem. Still crabby at the hosts, though, for (a) springing this on me unannounced, and (b) recommending the SFTP client they recommended. The client itself displeased me; the developers' site featured broken images and broken English both. Lovely. And that goes for the hosts too; nothing says "professional" like referring your paying customers to a site substantially less polished than some Geocities pages I've seen. Like it's that hard to find Download.com? Hell, they didn't even mention SFTP - they just skipped straight to pimping the program. Maybe one of their friends is behind it.

But I don't have to move after all. And I'm done pitching all-caps hissyfits. About this particular issue.
