don't give me beer before bedtime, I guess

Last night there was an early Mother's Day celebration involving pizza, beer, and Arrested Development. I now realize I should have started watching this show when I first heard about how great it was (first season) but the untimely death of Firefly was still a fresh wound, and I couldn't bear to get attached to another beloved-Fox-show-in-ratings-trouble right then.
And this is why I'm so close with my family - this is essentially what hanging out with people I'm not related to would involve, except people I'm not related to, that I meet around here, tend not to have decent taste in TV.
And then I had a really bizarre dream last night.

It's especially peculiar because I can recognize sources from my brain for things - Connie Willis's time travel books for the world without cats, the Thursday Next books for their time travel and their creepy political situation (though theirs has no element of theocracy), Suikoden both manga and game, Tsubasa, my hatred of Dubya, my inability to play S4, and so on... but how the hell did I blenderize them into this? My brain scares me.
In semi-related news, I have the S3 manga and a rant on it. Trouble is I was scanning things yesterday to illustrate the rant, and then a brief power outage turned off my computer before I'd saved the scans. Blargh.
