FF Sims - the next generation

I've been playing Sims again. While some of the stuff is funny just for crossover reasons (burning mutual lust between Cloud and Terra) and some in comparison to my last FF Sims neighborhood (once again, Celes and Edgar have reeeeeeally strong chemistry, though this time they're not acting on it) the real draw is seeing how the kids turn out. And now the oldest children of the FF Sims are off to college (Marlene and her fiancee Jade have already graduated.)
One from a time when Rude and Tifa were still dating.
As you can kind of see, she has two separate woohoo wants for him and two romantic wants. He has three woohoo wants (including "let's get it on in the car") and he wants to marry her. So what does he do when he gets her into the car? HE STARTS TALKING ABOUT HIS GAS MILEAGE.
Locke is in the Adventurer career track. I could not be more tickled that this exists - it's PERFECT for him! He was a Relic Liberator at one point!
Terra also approves. (That's not a panty shot, just the skirt mesh acting weird.) This might be the night the twins were conceived...
This is why it's good to look through all the content and read item descriptions.
I like the way some of the pet behaviors are defined.
Terra's lifetime want was to graduate three children from college. Pregnancy #3 took a lot out of her, then she went into labor while Locke was on the phone with Edgar. A bit later, Sabin called:
"Terra, are you okay? Edgar said he heard screaming and then Locke hung up in a hurry."
"Dude, I was GIVING BIRTH TO TWINS."
(In the background, Locke's preparing to move one of them up to toddler. I cheated, because twin infants are a PITA to care for, and I was totally not prepared for these. I wanted a single birth! They didn't even have a real nursery - the cribs were in the hall.)
When Jade Shinra meets her future wife's father for the first time... "I make out with your daughter ALL THE TIME."
When Edgar and Sabin's kids were young, the house was burglarized. The burglar was caught, but the alarm woke up everyone in the house, including Edgar's toddler son Mathiu. This is a shot of his wants panel right after the burglary:
That shot of a woman with a ghost icon right by her? That's the burglar. He wants her DEAD. O_o
Fifteen years later, he's STILL not over it. He's working the trauma into his first novel, in fact. This burglary bothers him worse than his parents' divorce! More on that in a bit.
But he's not so busy angsting as to ignore his cute dormmate, Ifalna, Cloud and Aerith's daughter-
"You did great on your midterms!"
"Iluvyou."
She's sending some pretty clear signals too.
"Good job on being so hot!" (In the background, Rude and Tifa's twins share a meal.)
"Did you read that article about the Chinese gold farmers?" Nicholas, Rude and Tifa's kid, with Madeline, Locke and Terra's daughter. These two are my favorites, because they're both crabby, introverted geeks. Their entire courtship has been over the chessboard.
Chess isn't such a snuggly activity for these two. I think he was cheating at it.
Nathan Figaro (Sabin's son) and Alice, Rude and Tifa's daughter - they went steady in high school and they're now engaged. (She and her twin brother got wildly different skintones, but they both have brown hair - surprised me, I figured Rude's black hair would dominate and that the skintone would be a middle ground between his and Tifa's.) I don't have many screencaps of them. He's so huge because I used a custom mesh for Sabin and Nate inherited it. He also copied his dad's hairdo.
Madeline decided to march into Nick's room early one morning. When I clicked on her, I saw the want panel shown here (the bed icon means she wants to woohoo. The lock means I went "HUZZAH! Hold that thought!" and saved it for a more convenient time), and then when she got around Mathiu (who was working, again, on his "MY HOUSE WAS ROBBED WHEN I WAS THREE!" emo masterpiece, on Nick's computer) she did this. SUBTLE, Maddie. I love her.
Edgar's divorce - his wife, Rosemarie, was one of the random downtownies. She was also a money Sim, usually fine by me - most Sims will have wants from other aspirations at times, money sims are just more materialistic and career focused. Being materialistic is fine, I can make them happy by buying things. But then they had their kid, Mathiu, and while Edgar was a doting father (Edgar's knowledge, and went all "I CAN TEACH HIM STUFF!") Rosemarie did not roll a single want to interact with him for his entire span of life as a toddler and child, nor did she show much interest in Edgar. I decided she was a gold-digger and Edgar should fall in love with... um, with the restaurant hostess, as it happens. Her name's Allyn, she's a redhead, and she turned out to be a family Sim. She and Edgar are now married and have a daughter, whose name I forget. Rosemarie has moved on with her life, reached her lifetime want, and fallen in love with a freaking HIDEOUS townie - I tried to have her date someone better-looking and for the entire date, she kept rolling the want to marry the fugly one. They seem happy, anyway.
