Suikoden vs. WoW deathmatch

I've been playing Suikoden V. I was going to post thoughts on it; I'd had a couple such posts up on what I've decided is my new writing journal, and I thought I'd move them over here instead. And then the new WoW world event went live, and I was torn between "OMG SQUEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!" and "no not yet!" I hadn't been playing WoW much; I was going to log on Wednesday for my guild's old-school raid night, but otherwise, I was happy to take a break and reacquaint myself with my backlog of console RPGs.

But I want one of my characters in particular to participate in the world event, and he was fifteen levels too low. He's now only twelve levels too low. Progress!

(And yeah, "he." I typically only play females - I figure I spent long enough making excuses for games with no playable ladies, or "look, there's a staff chick, she's female," and the like, why should I ever play a guy when there's a female option? But I make an exception for male trolls.)

Hm, which event is this one? I haven't been on much lately.

Retaking Echo Isles/Gnomeregan! The Gnomer side has managed to find two separate ways to bug out that I know of, and the cosmetic cape is no longer an overcloak like everyone was hoping for, but I'm still a slave to all world events.

Ooh, that's live? I'll have to check it out - I probably won't be able to do the actual fights, though. My highest-level character is 74. :p I'd be higher, but I don't have my own computer right now - when I do play, I'm typically borrowing my boyfriend's computer while he's at work.

And yes, I usually play female characters with one exception. I just don't like the female gnome design; I like the male gnomes better. So my one gnomish character is a guy.

I take it you haven't played Suikoden V previously? It's a fairly good game, I think. I really ought to replay it sometime - there are a number of "bad endings" you can get (kind of like the Suikoden II shack ending) at various points in the game, plus an alternate path I didn't take that apparently has some really character development.

Nope - I bought it just before the move to California. My memory card had a save file forty minutes into the game dated April 2006. I'm pretty sure my PS2 didn't get unpacked till we moved into this house (and I remember finding Suikoden V inside it) and by that time I was addicted to WoW.
