Everyone else reacts to the death. Kaede kneels over him and cries, dashing what little hope I had left, and then Maverick decides everyone's current level of thirst for his blood is insufficient, and turns up to be a dick.
And UNLEASH MORE ROBOTS. Fight scene, Origami Cyclone has developed some offensive abilities, Blue Rose saves Dragon Kid's life, but the heroes are getting the worse of it and the robots surround them. Barnaby's prepared for his last words to be Kotetsu's name. I DON'T CARE HOW THIS ENDS, IN MY HEAD THIS IS THE ENDING, RIGHT HERE.
Then the robots all power down. What? SAITO. SAITO, YOU BEAUTIFUL NERD, I LOVE YOU. Maverick prepares to go off to reboot them, Antonio attacks, and Rotwang ends up dangling out the eye of the statue, hanging on to Maverick's leg. Maverick shakes him off. The heroes come in after him as he tries to reboot the robots.
Maverick monologues as to how useless arresting him will be and HOLY SHIT AGNES I LOVE YOU TOO she busts in to say they were recording everything he just said GOD LOVE YOU, AGNES. Everyone's watching, including prisoners they'd arrested before, the mayor's kid (now toddling) and students in school. Maverick runs off, because he just cannot stop being evil, and takes Kaede hostage. TIGER THIS IS A GOOD TIME TO REVIVE.

He points out that Barnaby never even checked his pulse. Barnaby and Kaede hug him, then Blue Rose bursts into tears and hugs him too. Everyone welcomes him back, except Origami, who makes up for his lack of badass thus far by stopping Maverick, who's attempting to flee amid all the rejoicing, because he's JUST THAT EVIL.
He attempts to speechify about how he's made the world a better place, says "Ouroboros will never be finished" (is that our season 2 hook? LET IT BE THE SEASON 2 HOOK, if only so my husband will stop kvetching about the lack of Ouroboros resolution) and then lobotomizes himself? with his powers. He's finally led off by the cops, drooling.
Kaede tells Kotetsu he was really cool! Ben and Saito come running up!
And then I just stopped recapping to enjoy. Kotetsu announces his retirement, Barnaby says he'll retire too since there's no point to continuing heroing without Kotetsu. Yuri satisfies the viewers' bloodlust by roasting Maverick. A year later, we see the remaining six heroing away, Barnaby visiting his parents' graves, and Kotetsu, now part of the second league and having revealed that his powers only last a minute, chasing crooks. When he falls through some glass, Barnaby saves him. They bicker (revealing they haven't been in touch too much over the past year) but Barnaby also says he'll reenter heroing because he's Kotetsu's partner. Those two are so getting married, I tell you.
ALSO, Ben got the job at Apollon! I called it!
Stinger has a kid buying T&B trading cards, but when his dollar gets away from him and lands in a puddle, it reveals an Ouroboros symbol. Yep, we're getting a second season, y'all. :D
Husband pointed out that Fire Emblem's card was the one that was sold out. :D :D :D
